I am a 21 year resident of Florida. I attended the University of Wisconsin, University of Tennessee and Milwaukee Area Technical College. Every job I have ever had has been art related.
I paint on stretched canvas, which has been primed and sanded. A golden color under coat is used to give my paintings a warm feel and continuity. I use oil paints mixed with Neo Megilp, which is a soft gel medium. It is a 21st century formulation of one of the Old Master’s true secrets. It gives a silky feel to the paint.
I am inspired by nature. My passion is not to reproduce the vistas before me but rather interpret them with the use of color and light. I want my viewers to escape into my pictures, and feel the soft breeze in the trees, or perhaps feel the low rumble of an oncoming storm. My goal is to capture and share the feeling of peace and tranquility I feel when I am painting plein air.
