Painting for me is a form of meditation. I feel very close to God, especially when I'm painting plein air. I'm very grateful to be living in Ormond Beach, Florida, near the Old Dixie Highway and the Ormond Loop, where the beauty of the tidal creeks, palms, open marsh and age old canopies provide me with endless subject matter. For the past 25-30 years my main medium was watercolor. But, after a workshop with Wolf Kahn, at the National Academy in New York City, a few years ago, I began to experiment with pastels. Now, many of my paintings are a combination of both mediums. I also work in oil.
