Plein Air Florida encourages all artists with an interest in plein air painting to join a local area group. Please visit the Groups page for the one closest to you. Those with no nearby group can be assigned to Plein Air Florida which is an umbrella group that covers the entire state. Contact the Webmaster if you need assistance. Participation in Plein Air Florida is free and can be joined in one of four categories. An optional Artist page is available for a small annual fee.
Signature Member is for professional artists who's permanent full-time residence is in Florida, and who have been an Associate member for at least one year. To qualify for this category you must submit information and images that demonstrates your commitment to plein air painting on a professional level. Some indicators are exhibitions, consistent sales, workshops taught, gallery affiliations, awards, and consistant production of a body of quality plein air work. Gaining this status allows you to use the initials "PAF" on your work and to list "Signature Member" on your resume and other promotional materials.
Associate Member is for any artist who's permanent full-time residence is in Florida and who has a sincere interest in plein air painting. The only reqiurement is a desire to learn more and to actively participate in plein air activities in Florida. Gaining this status allows you to list "Associate Member" on your resume and other promotional materials.
Invitational Member is for part-time residents or non-Florida artists interested in being involved with plein air painting in the state on a regular basis. The ability to attend some events and be involved in Plein Air Florida activities within the state is expected. Gaining this status allows you to list "Invitational Member" on your resume and other promotional materials.
Affiliate Member is for non-artists who would like to be involved in the efforts of Plein Air Florida. Their participation can be anything which furthers our goals and fits their abilities and interests.
